Competition Winner

Mr and Mrs Belgacem recently held a competition within the school where the students had to name all of the AIMAA masters, then register their entry through the 'contact us' page on the website. Grandmaster Cho very kindly autographed a copy of his first book, Man of Contrast, for the prize which was won by young Kinzie Mcmahon from the Larkhall School!

Mr Belgacem Visits AIMAA European HQ

Mr Belgacem recently made a trip to visit and train with the AIMAA European Director, Master John D'arcy at the AIMAA European HQ in Dublin.

 

During the visit Mr Belgacem presented Master D'arcy with a plaque to celebrate his recent testing and subsequent promotion to 7th Degree.

 

Mr Belgacem had a fantastic time training with Master D'arcy as well as getting to spend some leisure time in and around Dublin with some old friends.

AIMAA Panther Grading

A huge well done to all of the Panthers who tested on Monday 19th October. Mrs Belgacem and Miss Martin were very proud of all the children who were fantastic. Mr Belgacem was hugely impressed by the progress all the children had made since their last testing.

Both Mr Belgacem and Mr Shaw would like to send a huge thank you to the Instructors and students at the Marcio Simas BJJ Academy in Orlando, Florida. The standard of training and instruction they both received was of an extremely high standard and has both improved their understanding of ground fighting and expanded upon their existing knowledge of BJJ techniques.

 

The Marcio Simas BJJ Academy is one of the most highly respected in the USA. Mr Simas is a 5th degree black belt and has trained for over 30 years directly with the Gracie family.

 

Mr Belgacem and Mr Shaw where instructed by Mr Gustavo 'Gutti' Muggiati who has an impecable resume as a BJJ fighter. 

Interschool Championships - June 2009

Students and Instructors from both Hamilton and Larkhall came together for this Interschool Championships which was a great success for everyone. Held at our Hamilton School in Eddlewood the tournament was attended by nearly fourty students. Everyone who attended the tournament received a participation medal with trophies given to those who finished in first and second place.
